Collaborate – A Virtual Classroom Option

2016 Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Tech Expo
Breakout Session
April 8, 2016

Presented by Pamela Culver,
Marketing Instructor at Western Technical College – La Crosse

Collaborate is a Blackboard tool for virtual classrooms. I have found Collaborate useful in all of my classes (Face-to-Face, Blended and Online). Collaborate offers my students an option to attend class live or recorded if they are sick, have a sick child, no childcare, away on business, or just can’t make it to class. They also use it to revisit a topic discussed in class.

The following are links to Collaborate recordings of and information presented during the breakout session at the WTCS Tech Expo 2016.

Videos for Students

Several attendees asked helpful documents for students on how to install and use Collaborate for the first time. At this time Western has not upgraded to Collaborate Ultra so our students must still download and use the Collaborate Launcher software.
