2 year vs 4 year College

Why would you choose a 2 year over a 4 year college?

2 year colleges are great because the cost of tuition and fees are about a one-third the cost for a year at a four-year college. Another great thing about two-year colleges are that you can get all your general studies done and then if you want you can transfer to a four-year college. According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition and fees at a two-year college is only $3,131.

4 year colleges are not bad either because you can get a well-rounded education and a flexible degree. In the first two years of school you will be doing the general studies but after that you will be taking courses in their major. According to the College Board, the average cost of in-state tuition and fees at a public four-year school is $8,655, this does not include cost for room and board which is another $9,205. That is $17,860 for just a year of school at a four-year school. The average cost for tuition, fees, room and board at a Private school is $39,518 for one year.
